John Piper, Frank Turk, and Baptism
July 16, 2008 by James Kubecki

John Piper begins a 3-part sermon series on baptism and church membership with the question, How Important is Church Membership? Shannon and I watched this sermon last night, and it has given me a lot to think about, not only on the subjects of baptism and church membership, but also on leadership and shepherding the flock of God.

Bonus: Frank Turk responds to Piper’s sermon with a very astute and biblical observation of the type of thing Piper is talking about.

Somehow, kubecki, you should be punished for (accidentally) puting me on-par with Dr. Piper.

However, linking to me is good. You do that more often. :-)

Well, Frank, we’ll just have to see if he brings in your Acts 19 example into the discussion in the next 2 sermons. I can’t imagine he wouldn’t.

And as far as putting you “on-par with Dr. Piper” – next time instead of a “Bonus” I’ll characterize your contribution as a footnote…
;-)

Excellent. Much better. We don’t need another hero.
